This print is of one of an animal that has always caught my attention, the Red Panda.
He is part of a series of animals I did where I wanted to depict beings that were not often shown within artistic works. Red Pandas have piqued my interest, and since I rarely see them depicted I figured that is where I should step in.

The image consists of five layers of safe oil-based ink. Each layer was hand-carved on the same block in a reductive relief process. Every color was hand mixed to get warm tones that identify with Red Pandas. I used warm colors to study a monochromatic scheme, seeing how much depth and definition I could achieve with a limited color palette.
